Black is Infinite
In 2015 I held my daughter in my hands for the first time. I'm hoping that it will not be my last. Before she was even born her white birthmother had already chosen to have her adopted away from me because she did not want people to know she gave birth to a black child as it would ostracize her from her family and cause her to lose out on her inheritance. You know. White people problems.
After being denied custody rights to my child due to the United States being a land of white supremacist values, I was allowed only four hours with my child before watching her be placed into the arms of her new family, a lovely rich white family who were fully aware of the racism that fueled the situation but weren’t too disgusted by it to not participate in this modern-day human auction in order to “help complete” their family. They promised to send pictures and updates and even allow yearly visits. The catch? I can’t tell anyone about her or post anything on social media. Like an idiot, I believed them.
Now I’m out to reunite with my daughter and destroy white supremacy in the process. By collecting all six Black Infinity stones. I’m reaching out to learn from other Black artists to harness the power, mind, soul, reality, time, and space that lives with me as it does all of the diaspora.
And yes, I know it sounds crazy, but I’ma process my trauma however I need to. And I will be successful. Because Black is Infinite.
